Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz is her father, while Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father came from a Jewish family Ryder believes she is Jewish. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family moved from Mendocino County in California at the age of 7 years old. In those days, there wasn't electricity. Ryder who read a lot aged 12 became a book worm since Ryder had no access to television. In 1983 when she was 12 Ryder joined the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. At the age of 15, Ryder landed her first acting job onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder was bullied in the high school. She hoped that the acting profession would change this. However, it didn't take place. But she continued to chase her goals. Her big break came in 1988 with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to be successful in her characters in numerous films. Ryder was nominated twice for Academy Awards one for her performance in The Age of Innocence (1993).
