Jillian Hernnessy (born November 25, 1968) is an Canadian actress, singer who had a major impact on American television. She's best known for her incredible appearances on American television shows Law & Order (where she impressed viewers over three seasons as prosecutor Claire Kincaid) and Crossing Jordan (where she played the lead character Jordan Cavanaugh). Hennessy also showed off her talent in movies like RoboCop 3 Most Wanted, Chutney Popcorn, and The Acting Class. She also produced and wrote these movies. Hennessy started her acting career alongside her sister, in 1988. They played two call-girls in Dead Ringers. The actress briefly appeared in Buddy the Musical - The Buddy Holly Story on Broadway in the year 1990. In 1993, the actress made her way out of musicals to enter the science-fiction genre, playing the character Dr. Marie Lazarus. The following fall year, she was a part of the crew of the NBC sensational crime-drama Law & Order in the character of assistant district prosecutor Claire Kincaid. The three-season run in the part was an instant hit with viewers. The show ended in 1996. Parker is known for her performances in movies as well as television series such as RED Fried Green Tomatoes Boys by the Side and The West Wing Angels of America. Parker was honored with an award for her performance in the series a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and An Emmy Award. Parker received an Tony Award in 2001 for Best Actress, for her performance in the role of Proof in the musical Proof on Broadway.
